Fall 2015 Student Accomplishments

The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business at Virginia State University celebrated the following fall 2015 student accomplishments.

(1) Tarik Floyd (Marketing minor), Deric Gassaway (Marketing major), and Sam Kelly (Management major) participated in the RVA Tech Jam sponsored by leading innovators in corporate titans in Richmond. 

(2) Renee Rogers (Management major) participated in Project Shadow with our friend Dennis Bickmeier (President) at Richmond International Raceway.

(3) Treyshon Harris (MISY major) and Alia Houston (MISY major) attended an AITP networking event with over 100 IT professionals to include Scott McKay (CIO at Genworth).

(4) Kevin Carter (Accounting minor) participated in the ribbon cutting for a new academic building at Richard Bland College representing the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business.  

(5) Over two hundred students participated in PBS Day to include being interviewed on a green-screen for film production on television. 

(6) Over seventy students participated in Aerotek Day to include meeting with Kim Sneeder (Director of Business Operations) and Kyle Wiggins (Recruiter).   

(7) Over twenty students participated in Small Business Administration Day to include discussing entrepreneurship with Monet Chapman (Outreach Representative).

(8) David Ghartey (MISY major), Tanika Mann (Accounting major), Raven McGriff (Accounting major), Amber Raymond (Management major), Frednesha Sanders (Management major), and Deonesha Williams (MISY major) participated in the Thurgood Marshall Foundation Leadership Institute in D.C. 

(9) The students in Career Launch hosted Amanda Archer and Carrington Brown on campus for fun hands-on exercises.  Both ladies are students at Richard Bland College and constitute prize recruits for the College of Business.

(10) Korie Collins (Accounting major) and Stacey Elder (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Mazda, SunTrust, Ameritone, U.S. Army, Federal Reserve, Divaris Real Estate, Accel Talent & Development, Dominion, and Mas Realty.

(11) Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major) and Darius Roman (Management/HR major) interviewed for a second time with Joint Logistics Managers for a paid internship.

(12) Alanna Meekins (Management/HR major and 09 grad) has accepted a new position as a recruiter for Sunoco.  Alanna had recruited for Kroger for the last two years.

(13) Phillip Green (Management major and 15 grad) has started a consulting company called Breakthrough Management.

(14) Katherine Wilson (Management major and 14 grad) has earned a promotion at Northrop Grumman and is now a SAP Training Developer.

(15) Courtney Harris (Accounting major and 12 grad) has been hired at Faneuil as a Pricing Analyst.

(16) James Barber (Management major), Devin Carter (MISY major), Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), Gloria Parham (Management/HR major), and Tim Sloan (Management major) shared remarks at the Memorial for Kianna Rodrigues (Marketing major) celebrating the life of a very special lady.

(17) Aaron Fuller (Management major) has earned a paid internship with ComforCare and will work for our friend Corliss Williamson (President).

(18) Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major) and Imani Groce (Accounting major) visited the GATE entrepreneurship workshop hosted by Virginia's Gateway Region. 

(19) Aiyana Glover (Management major) and Harrisa Korkoya (Accounting major) participated in the press conference at Richard Bland College to announce the arrival of the new semi-pro basketball team in Petersburg.     

(20) Korie Collins (Accounting major), Stacey Elder (Management major), Sam Kelly (Management major), and Devin Lightner (Marketing minor) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role Play with Industry as assessed by WestRock, Hankins & Anderson, City of Richmond, Nyman Consulting, City of Petersburg, Ameritone, BizWorks, and the HUF Center. 

(21) Over one hundred students participated in Capital One Day to include twenty-eight students in Professional Enhancement hosting six associates for hands on decision-making exercises in class.

(22) Over forty students participated in Tax and Business Solutions Day to include participating in entrepreneurship workshops.

(23) Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), Hunter Johnson (Accounting major), Renee Rogers (Management major) interviewed for a Coop at Westrock with our friend Mercedes Moore (Sourcing Manager).

(24) Over two hundred students participated in Richmond Flying Squirrels Day to include applying for internship opportunities.

(25) Jasmine Green (Management major) earned an internship with our friend Sam Anderson (President) at Sam Anderson Consulting.

(27) Earon Chandler (Management major) has passed his Banking Certification.  Earon interns with our friends at State Farm. 

(28) Monet Graves (Marketing major) has earned a paid internship with our friend Isaac Mitchell (Owner of Mitchell Sports Performance).     

(29) Vanessa Brown (Marketing minor) interviewed with our friend Hawley Smyth (Recruiter) at the VCU BrandCenter for the purposes of graduate school. 

(30) Kevin Carter (Accounting major), Aaron Fuller (Management major), Messiyah Kerr (Management major) and Devin Lightner (Marketing minor) networked with Dave Rosenbaum.  Rosenbaum produced movies like Minions, Despicable Me, and Kung Fu Panda.  The gentlemen also networked with Essie Weiss (Marketing manager at Capital One).

(31) Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major) participated in the Crater Procurement Center Workshop with fifteen businesses. 

(32) Deonesha Williams (MISY major) has earned a full time job at Deloitte for after graduation.  Deonesha now has to decide between GE and Deloitte.

(33) Devin Lightner (Marketing minor) has earned an internship in movie production with the movie Loving.

(34) Keana Walker (Management major) and Monet Graves (Marketing major) have earned positions with our friends at Shamin Hotels.

(35) Over fifty students participated in Enterprise Rent-a-Car Day with Blake Wingfield (Recruiter) and our own Kamesha Gibbs (Management major and 14 grad and Manager at Enterprise).

(36) Korie Collins (Accounting major) and Marvel Taylor (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play as assessed by Northwestern Mutual, Binary Formations, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Myers and Stauffer, Hearth and Home Shoppe, and Metamorphosis Consulting.

(37) Over sixty students participated in Nationwide Insurance Day with Aretha Gayle (Claims Specialist) and Ryan Wilson (Marketing specialist).

(38) Over forty students participated in Union Day with Laura Richmond (Recruiter).

(39) Over fifty students participated in Accounting Principals Day with Jamie Lees (Recruiter) and Shannon Hooker (Recruiter).

(40) Over seventy students participated in Owens & Minor Day with Tonnice Charles (Director of Category Management) and Matt Jalbert (Senior Recruiter).

(41) Brianna Flores (Marketing major), Vanessa Brown (Marketing major), Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), Monet Graves (Marketing major), Aliya Houston (MISY major), and Sam Kelly (Management major) participated in an Office of Senator Mark Warner Professional Women networking event.

(42) Zymir Batts (Accounting major), Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), Nahja Marinnie (Management/HR major), Darius Roman (Management/HR major), Marshawn Shelton (Management major), and Keana Walker (Management major) interviewed for paid internships at Joint Logistics Managers.

(43) Eliza Dizon (MISY major) has earned a job for after graduation at Deloitte in McLean as a SAP Consultant.

(44) David Ghartey (MISY major) has earned a job for after graduation at Deloitte in McLean as a SAP Consultant.  David now has to decide between Deloitte and Booz Allen Hamilton.  

(45) Kort Murdock (MISY major) has earned a job for after graduation at Northrop Grumman in Richmond as a Software Engineer. 

(46) Gloria Parham (Management/HR major) sang the National Anthem at Southside Virginia Community College’s Inauguration Ceremony of their Fifth President.   

(47) Jenelle Bazil (Management major), Zacara Dunn (Marketing major), Thomas Johnson (MISY major), Jasmine Mason (Marketing major), Cynthia Simmons (Accounting major), Christopher Thomas (Management major), Derick Thorne (Marketing major), Shannon Thrower (Accounting major), and Jennifer Wiafe (Management major) participated in the Society of Financial Education and Professional Development Conference in Arlington.

(48) Tanika Mann (Accounting major) has earned a paid internship for the summer at Ernst & Young and will work out of Richmond.

(49) Kevin Carter (Accounting major) participated in an Entrepreneurship meeting with Secretary of Commerce and Trade Maurice Jones.

(50) Mary Scott (Accounting major and 2011 grad) earned her Certified Fraud Examiners Certification.

(51) Jimmy Brown (Accounting major), Chris Dow (MISY major), Lawrence Fitch (MISY major), Mark Grant (MISY major), Gloria Parham (Management/HR major), Marcus Yancey (Accounting major), and Fidelis Zemkwe (MISY major) participated in workshops at the Federal Reserve.

(52) Bilial Williams (Marketing major) participated in Project Shadow with our own Tiffany Gullins (Manager at Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Marketing major/2014 grad).

(53) Deric Gassaway (Marketing major) has earned a paid internship doing marketing with our friends at Mitchell Sports Performance.

(54) Tanika Mann (Accounting major) earned a $7,000 scholarship from The Thurgood Marshall College Foundation.

(55) Rachel Ajibolade (MISY major), Jasmine Davis (Accounting major), Stacey Elder (Management major), Aiyana Glover (Management major), Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), and LaMarcus Wise (Marketing major) participated in a special event to plant Redbud trees on the VSU campus.  Our students joined our industry partners in planting the trees; Redbuds that were paid for by the generosity of some of our corporate friends.  Trees were planted for Dominion, the Federal Reserve, WalMart, Timmons Group, W. M. Jordan, Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, Nationwide Insurance, Networking Technologies & Support, Dunlap & Partners, and ServPro.

(56) Aaron Fuller (Management major) visited with our friend Hunter Leemon (Executive Director of Sportable).

(57) Brian Redd (Management major) interviewed to manage/run a Waffle House location.  Brian interviewed with our friend Shawna Britt, (HR Director).

(58) Deric Gassaway (Marketing major) has been offered and has accepted a Marketing and Leasing Professional position at Boyd Homes in Richmond for after graduation in December.

(60) Vanessa Brown (Marketing minor), Dasia Davis (Management major), Brianna Flores (Marketing major), Aiyana Glover (Management major), Shannon Smith (Communications major), and Keana Walker (Management major) participated in the Shamin Hotels Breast Cancer Awareness dinner and networking event.

(61) Deric Gassaway (Marketing major) participated in the Lighthouse Labs entrepreneurship networking event in Richmond.

(62) Michaela Nelson (Management major) hosted Greater Richmond Partnership of Virginia on campus for an orientation to VSU and tour of campus pertinent to economic development.

(63) Nineteen students signed up for TEAM VSU to participate in the National Kidney Walk to be held on November 7th when we hosted the National Kidney Foundation Day.

(64) Marcellus Barley (Management major), Korrie Collins (Accounting major), Chevon Miller (Marketing minor), and Marvel Taylor (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by BB&T, Wells Fargo, the HUF Center, SCORE, Chic Fil-A, and VCU.

(65) Korrie Collins (Accounting major), Stacey Elder (Management major), and Sam Kelly (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role Play with Industry as assessed by the City of Richmond, Papa John’s, Dominion, and the Prince George Electric Cooperative.

(66) Over thirty students participated in Inroads Day to include interviewing with Rob Youngblood (Regional Representative).

(67) Over seventy students participated in the Urban Views Weekly/Central African American Chamber of Commerce Day to include registering with Ervin Clarke (CEO).

(68) Over sixty students participated in Wells Fargo Day to include providing their resume for consideration for part-time jobs.

(69) Over eighty students participated in Patient First Day to include having their blood pressure taken.

(70) Monet Graves (Management major) and Chelsie Taylor (MISY major) interviewed for internships at the Federal Reserve.

(71) Thea Harvell (Marketing major) participated in Project Shadow with our friend Drexel Harris (HR Manager) at Dominion.  Though Thea is a marketing major, his career aspirations regard HR.

(72) Nicole Layne (Accounting major) volunteered at Ettrick Elementary tutoring 2nd graders and helping with their homework.  

(73) Twenty MISY students hosted four industry representatives to include Kris Emmett (Owner of SentryWorx) and our own Corey Peoples (Network Engineer at General Electric and 15 grad). 

(74) Krystal Whidbee (MISY major) interviewed for a Voice over IP internship with VSU Technology Services.   

(75) Zymir Batts (Accounting major) participated in an Urban Financial Services Coalition networking event with twenty industry representatives.

(76) Deric Gassaway (Marketing major), Sharod Mitchell (Marketing major), Paige Brown (Marketing major), Monet Graves (Marketing major), Zacara Dunn (Marketing major), and Renee Rogers (Management major) interviewed for a paid internship with our friend Isaac Mitchell (Owner of Mitchell Sports Performance).

(77) Angelique Johnson (MISY major), Fidelis Zemkwe (MISY major), Dashia Shanks (MISY major), and Zymir Batts (Accounting major) participated in an Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) networking event with thirty IT industry representatives.

(78) Nicole Layne (Accounting major) visited with Brian Couturier (Editor of the Progress Index) for a conversation regarding the City of Petersburg.

(79) Shannon Smith (Marketing minor) participated in Project Shadow with Brian Couturier (Editor of the Progress Index).

(80) Over seventy students participated in Johnson, Inc. Day to include students in Intro to Business hosting Torrance Hampton (Creative Director) in the classroom.

(81) Over one hundred students participated in Majestic Football League Day to include interviewing with Walter Bowling (Commissioner).

(82) Eldon Burton (Management major and 11 grad) was selected to participate in the Ph.D. Project Conference to be held in Chicago.

(83) Jarielis L. Garcia (Marketing major) is expecting!  Her and her husband will have a baby girl and have named her Charlize.

(84) Over fifty students participated in Sam’s Club Day with our friend Kyle Winfield (Outreach Representative).

(85) Over eighty students participated in Southern States Day to include interviewing with Regina Brown and Kristin Roberts (HR Managers).

(86) Over thirty students participated in Waffle House Day to include meeting with Shawna Britt (HR Director).

(87) Five students helped host Joshua Cunningham (Turnaround Specialist for Chic Fil-A).

(88) Alanda Petes (Management major) has earned a position as an Intake Coordinator at Corvel in Richmond. 

(89) Paige Brown (Marketing major) participated in Project Shadow with Carol Nitz (Director of Marketing) for Networking Technologies and Support.   

(90) Korrie Collins (Accounting major) and LaMarcus Wise (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Cobb Technologies, Austin Brockenbrough & Associates, IBM, ECS, City of Richmond, and GRPVA.

(91) Barry Brown (Management major), Aiyana Glover (Management major), Kara Rogers (Management major), and Krystal Whidbee (MISY major) hosted an entrepreneurship workshop for 15 businesses.

(92) Marcus Yancey (Accounting major) helped host Ben Humphrey (Project Manager for Chesterfield County Economic Development) on campus for a meeting.

(93) Deric Gassaway (Marketing major) interviewed for a full-time position at Boyd Homes.

(94) Kenneth Mills (Marketing major) interviewed for a position at Radio-One.

(95) Renee Rogers (Management major) participated in Project Shadow with our friend Adam Kennedy (CEO of SwimRVA).   

(96) Kevin Carter (Accounting major) has been awarded a $750 scholarship from our friends to include Lawrence Brooks at the Muscle Car Club of Virginia.  

(97) Ce’Erra Patton (Management major) arrived in Thailand to start her semester abroad studying at Mahidol University International College. 

(98) Mykala Daniel (Marketing major) represented the College of Business at the John Randolph Medical Center 100th Year Gala.

(99) Meatwaun Braswell (Marketing major) participated in the Colonial Heights Economic Development visioning session to determine the future of the City.

(100) Earon Chandler (Management major) earned two paid internships to include a position as an Agent Aspirant at State Farm with our friend and Owner Haile Lytton and a position as a paid staffer on our friend Derius Swinton’s campaign for Petersburg City Council.

(101) Jenae Moore (Management major) participated in Project Shadow with Susan Young (Vice President) at EVB Bank. 

(102) James Barber (Management major) and Jasmine Davis (Accounting major) participated in a radio interview pertinent to the opening of our new student-run clothing store.

(103) Deja’ Gibson (MISY major and 14 grad) has earned a post-grad internship at the GRAMMYs.

(104) Jasmine Brown (MISY major and 14 grad) has earned a position as a Claims Analyst for Kelmar Associates in Wilmington, Delaware. 

(105) Chevon Miller (Marketing minor) was the Top Performer in Small Group Rolle-Play with Industry as assessed by Rolls-Royce, Allen & Allen, SCORE, City of Richmond, 4Core Technology, VDOT, and LegalShield.

(106) Fifteen students participated in a Premier Financial Alliance workshop pertinent to learning the insurance industry. 

(107) Stacey Elder (Management major), Brittany Bunch (Communications major), Daushay Campbell (Accounting major), Jasmine Davis (Accounting major), Imani Groce (Accounting major), Joal Lloyd (Management major), and Michaela Nelson (Marketing major) opened the new student-run clothing store in Singleton Hall.

(108) Wesley Wright (Accounting major) earned a paid internship in ARMICS at Virginia State University.

(109) Thirteen student-workers were key in helping us launch our new Center for Entrepreneurship by way of an open house.   Aimed at providing entrepreneurs in the Tri-Cities and south of the James communities a co-working space, substantive programming, executive conference rooms, Wi-Fi, and premium access to mentors, business to business vendors, and most importantly students; the Center constitutes yet another commitment to invest in our community. 

(110) Ten students participated in the Alumni Advisory Board resume and interview workshops and luncheon to include interfacing with companies like KPMG.  For the Alumni Advisory Board, it constituted another opportunity to give back.

(111) Nakeya Johnston (Accounting major and 12 grad) has earned a position at Deloitte & Touche in Arlington.  Nakeya is our second student to earn a position at Deloitte within the last four months. 

(112) Over thirty students hosted IBM, Lumos, Fort Lee Credit Union, Capital One, and Teksystems for Small Group Role-Play with Industry session.

(113) Over forty students participated in Teksystems Day to include meeting with Chris Jones, District Director, to discuss job opportunities.

(114) Over thirty students participated in YMCA Day to include signing up to volunteer at the Y to mentor and tutor children in Petersburg.

(115) Over eighty students participated in City of Petersburg Day to include Brian Telfair (City Attorney) teaching students in Intro to Business.

(116) Amber Raymond (Management major) has earned the prestigious Presidential Internship on the campus of Virginia State University working in the Office of the President.  Amber joins Frednesha Sanders (Management major) in working in the Office of the President.  We have consistently placed students in the Office of President to include in the past Breyana Baggett (Marketing major) and Naimah Miller (Management major).

(117) Mykala Daniel (Marketing major), Ahmed Alnigrish (Marketing major), Kianna Rodrigues (Marketing major), Chanel Brown (Marketing major), and LaMarcus Wise (Marketing major) were elected officers to our new American Marketing Association, VSU Chapter.  We have 19 students all together for the chapter!

(118) Alanda Petes (Management major) along with Stacey Davis (Management major and 15 grad) and Melanie Fowler (Management major and 15 grad) were selected to be profiled on a billboard just across the Appomattox from campus effective erection of said billboard on October 1.  The billboard constitutes another component of our collaborative relationship with the City of Petersburg and Johnson, Inc. 

(119) Alanda Petes (Management major) has earned an internship in Project Management at the Dixon Mason Group. 

(120) Zekia McCarvin (Accounting major and 14 grad) has earned a position as an Accounting Specialist at Calibre in Alexandria.  Zekia is working with our buddy and alum Ron Robinson (79 grad).  

(121) Laura Jones (Accounting major and 14 grad) has been admitted to Liberty University and is doing the M.B.A. program online.

(122) Balla Koroma (Accounting major and 11 grad) has been hired as a Senior Accountant at Richmond Retirement System.

(123) Over thirty students participated in Better Housing Coalition Day to include interviewing with Chris Hairston-White (Vice President for External Affairs).

(124) Over thirty students in Professional Enhancement hosted Khyiem Long (Recruiter for GEICO) in the classroom.

(125) Over eighty students participated in W. M. Jordan Day to include hosting Sharon Rheinhart (Director of Supplier Diversity and Inclusion) in Professional Enhancement. 

(126) Over sixty students participated in Commercial Real Estate for Women Day to include interviewing and applying for scholarship money.

(127) Over three hundred students participated in the VSU Business and STEM expo and networked with fifty-three employers.

(128) Ahmad Alnigrish, Jasmine Baskett, Chevon Miller, Kenneth Mills, Ashli Mitchell and LaMarcus Wise (all marketing major) hosted Marie Coone (Marketing specialist) from the City of Petersburg for our AMA meeting. 

(129) Seventeen of our students sat down for interviews with Nicole Baab (Recruiter) for Dominion Day. 

(130) John Alexander (Management major and 15 grad), Kevin Carter (Accounting major), Brandin Harvell (Marketing major), and Sam Kelly (Management major) participated in a small business event for one hundred persons hosted by Mark James (Owner of Hearth and Home Shoppe).

(131) Stacey Elder (Management major) volunteered at her middle school by tutoring children in Spanish.

(132) Over seventy students participated in Radio One Day to include meeting with Brittney Quarles (Director of Sales) and Chantal Creighton (Sales Associate).

(133) Stacey Elder (Management major), Tanika Mann (Accounting major), Chelsie Taylor (MISY major), and Marvel Taylor (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role Play as assessed by Dominion, Dbi, Hankins & Anderson, Destination Theater, Standard Motor Products, Hallmark Youth Academy, Virginia Department of Social Services, and WalMart.

(134) Over fifty students participated in Institute for Real Estate Management Day. 

(135) Our students’ excellence has realized in a $10,000 investment by our good friends at Mazda.  The monies will be awarded as scholarship money.

(136) Ce’Erra Patton (Management major) has earned a full-time position at Dominion for after graduation as a Business Analyst.  Ce’Erra has been interning for Dominion and is about to depart for Thailand to study abroad. 

(137) Earon Chandler (Management major) participated in Project Shadow with Haile Lytton (State Farm agent).

(138) Devin Lightner (Marketing minor) was the Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Bon Secours, Shamin Hotels, KPMG, Southside Regional Medical Center, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, WestRock, Inroads, M. H. West & Co, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Aflac, and Farmers Insurance. 

(139) Rolan Eason (Accounting major), Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major), and Monet Graves (Accounting major) participated in the Tax and Business Solutions networking event with David Dye (President).

(140) Devin Lightner (Marketing minor) participated in the C3 Lunch and Learn with twelve businesses regarding the legal aspects of filmmaking.

(141) Monet Graves (Accounting major), Briana Flores (Marketing major), and Keana Walker (Management major) participated in the C3 Visioning Session with twenty-five businesses.

(142) Over seventy students participated in Petersburg Chamber Day with Danielle Fitz-Hugh (President). 

(143) Perlecya Dozier (Marketing major and 14 grad) has earned a position as a Marketing Specialist at Kantar Media in Chesapeake.

(144) Over sixty students participated in VCU BrandCenter Day with Hawley Smyth (Director of Recruiting and Admissions).

(145) Twenty students participated in Farmers Insurance Day with Chip Lankert (Recruiter).

(146) DeAnna Waters (Management major) participated in the 1 Million Cups networking session with twenty entrepreneurs.

(147) Malik Harris (Management major) has earned a full-time position at Dominion for after graduation.  Malik interned for Dominion this summer. 

(148) Sylvia McHerron (Management/HR major) has been hired again for a position in VSU Development for the fall semester.  Sylvia worked in Development last year.

(149) Courtney Hutchinson (Management major and May grad) has been hired as an associate at Wells Fargo in Maryland.

(150) Nakeya Johnston-Peterson (Accounting major and 12 grad) has been hired as a consultant at Deloitte in Alexandria.  Nakeya is also working on her M.B.A. online at Florida Institute of Technology. 

(151) Asjah Royal (Management major) participated in Project Shadow with Linsey Allenbaugh (Professional Development Coordinator for the Richmond Association of Realtors).

(152) LaTasha Richardson (Management major and May grad) has been hired as a Recruiter with our friends at Robert Half.  LaTasha was working with our friends at Shamin Hotels as a Recruiter.

(153) Over 100 students visited with Sam Anderson (Owner of Cycul, Richmond Bubble Soccer, and Sam Anderson Consulting) as a part of Cycul Day in Singleton Hall to include interviewing for a paid internship.  Sam also guest taught in Intro to Business.

(154) Nineteen students participated in our new American Marketing Association (AMA) meeting to include in a teleconference with Tim Asimos (President of AMA Richmond). 

(155) Briana Berry (Management/HR major) has earned a position as a HR Specialist for the U.S. Navy.

(156) Robert Dinh (Management major) and Samuel Frankfort (Management major) participated in the Industry Council(s) meeting with thirty businesses.

(157) Sam Kelly (Management major) and Marvel Taylor (Management major) earned Top Performer in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by SunTrust, Dominion, SCORE, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Hopewell Downtown Partnership, Guardian Life, and Bon Air @ the Village.

(158) Monet Graves (Accounting major) participated in Project Shadow with Michael Lee (Owner of Visions Family Services).

(159) Jhadee Gordon (Accounting major) and Tanika Mann (Accounting major) have both been awarded a $7,500 scholarship from Altria.  Jhadee and Tanika join Kianna Rodrigues (Marketing major) and Marvel Taylor (Management major) in being awarded the scholarship as previously announced. 

(160) Radiyatu Bafalie (Management major) has earned an internship for the fall semester at the Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

(161) Alisha Williamson (Management major) has been offered full-time employment at Enterprise Rent-a-Car subsequent graduation.  Alisha interned for Enterprise this summer. 

(162) Tiffany Johnson (Management major) and Derrick Thorne (Marketing major) have earned part-time employment at General Dynamics at the call center. 

(163) Mykala Daniel (Marketing major) has earned an internship for the semester with our friends at Madison + Main.

(164) Atiya Leach (Marketing major and 14 grad) and Mykala Daniel (Marketing major) hosted Chanel Brown (Marketing major & freshman) for a conversation regarding her career aspirations.

(165) Ashton Holland (MISY major) has been offered full-time employment at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond for after graduation.  Ashton interned at the Fed this summer.

(166) Briana Taylor (Marketing major) has been offered a Co-Op at Inbound Central.  Briana interned for Inbound Central this summer. 

(167) Tarik Floyd (Marketing minor) has been offered full-time employment at Marcus & Millichap for after graduation.  Tarik interned for Marcus & Millichap this summer.

(168) Iris Harris (Management major) participated in a Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce breakfast with dozens of companies to include being hosted by Ian Williams (Marketing major and 14 grad).

(169) Sixty-nine students participated in Virginia Credit Union Day to include interviewing.

(170) Over seventy students participated in Robert Half Day to include interviewing.

(171) Aicha Camara (Management major) has been hired by our friend Nick Patel (Owner of Kalyan Hospitality) for a part-time position at the Holiday Inn Express.

(172) Breyana Baggett (Marketing major and 13 grad) just purchased a home in Virginia Beach.  Breyana does marketing for Dragas Companies. 

(173) Tieona Booker (Management major) interned with Angel Perez for a logistics internship at WalMart Logistics.

(174) Lydia Irgu (Management major), Ibukun Jimoh (Accounting major), Ai’Jalon McGhee (Marketing major), and LaMarcus Wise (Marketing major) interviewed for a paid internship at ComforCare.

(175) Marshawn Shelton (Management major) has earned a full-time positon for after graduation in May with AT&T.  Marshawn interned for AT&T this summer in Atlanta and did very well.  Marshawn will manage forty employees upon assuming the full-time position. 

(176) Kianna Rodrigues (Marketing major) and Marvel Taylor (Management major) have each been awarded a $7,500 Altria scholarship.

(177) Eliza Dizon (MISY major) has been awarded a $2,500 Johnson & Johnson Scholarship.  Eliza is one of only four students in the entire country to be awarded the scholarship!

(178) Tiana Robertson (MISY major and May grad) has earned a position as an Inbound Sales Specialist at Wells Fargo. 

(179) Eric Muite (Management major) proposed to Diamond Sykes (MISY major and May grad) and Diamond accepted!  Diamond just returned from California and is thoroughly enjoying her job at Oracle.

(181) Ralph Williams (MISY major and 12 grad) was married to his VSU sweetheart!

(186) I am pleased to share that Treyshon Harris (MISY major) has been offered and has accepted an IT position at Northrop Grumman working as a SAP technician.  

(187) Gloria Parham (Management/HR major) interviewed with our friends at Chesterfield County Human Resources.  Gloria has been invited to interview again next week; 330 persons applied and Gloria was one of 5 persons selected.  She will interview again on the 16th; this is a HR associate position. 

(188) Ashton Holland (MISY major) interviewed today for a position at KPMG.  Ashton already has an offer from the Fed Reserve.

(190) Tarasha Pierce (Management major and 15 grad) has earned an Associate position at General Dynamics.

(191) Latoya Gee (MISY major and 12 grad) has earned a Network Administrator position at Standard Motor Products and will continue to work at the facility in Prince George though in her new capacity constituting her first IT opportunity.

(192) Colisha Davis (Management major and 14 grad) has earned a manager position at Northrop Grumman.  Colisha has been working as a manager at Enterprise Rent-a-Car for the last couple of years.

(194) Sarah Martin (MISY major) led a team of students in Corporate Sustainability in a visit with Tim Klabunde (Director of Marketing) at Timmons Group in Richmond.

(195) Deonesha Williams (MISY major) led a team of students in Corporate Sustainability in a visit with Sharon Rheinhart (Director of Diversity and Inclusion) at W. M. Jordan.

(196) Over thirty students in COBU 400 completed a strategic plan for the Williamsburg Community Action Agency.

(197) Jimmy Brown (Accounting major) has earned a full-time position for after graduation in May as a Financial Analyst at JP Morgan in Newark, Delaware.
